Kentucky's season came to an abrupt end after the Wildcats lost to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This loss has Big Blue Nation concerned with Coach Calipari's ability to get this basketball program back to where it has been throughout its history.
During his radio show on Monday evening Coach Calipari talked about some changes the he and his staff need to make in order to turn things around with the Kentucky basketball program around.
Some of these things include getting older, as during the 2023-24 season, Coach Calipari relied heavily on freshmen.
This means Coach Calipari will have to go get some talented players out of the transfer portal to get this roster older ahead of next season. Kentucky has six players coming in with the 2024 recruiting class, so half of the scholarships will be taken up by true freshmen.
Now, we will wait to find out which players from last year's team will be back in next season to hopefully see what direction Coach Calipari will go with the 2024-25 team.
These were the conversations on the most recent version of the Wildcats Today Podcast. Hosts Andrew Stefaniak and Carson Nash broke down who they expect the future of the Kentucky basketball program to look like.
Both expect a lot of movement in the transfer portal, while the coaching staff looks to plug the issues we saw a year ago with rebounding, physicality, and defense.
